This course aimed to prepare those who are interested in teaching English as a future career. In this course, fundamental understandings of English teaching principles and practice were introduced. We learned how to design a course and plan a lesson as well as important teaching approaches including the Grammar Translation Method, Communicative Language Teaching, and Task-based Language Teaching.

           Equipped with such knowledge, students were guided to discuss and conduct teaching demos in class. By the end of the semester, they became more familiar with techniques and principles of English language teaching and be able to design and teach lessons targeting at elementary/junior high school students effectively. In addition to that, they were able to produce two high-quality teaching videos via LOOM. See Projects 1 and 2 for their creative work.
